Gold prices up in early Thursday trade

Gold prices inched up in early Thursday trading, with spot gold increasing by 0.22 per cent to $2,516.98 per ounce as of 7:00 GMT, and US gold futures rising 0.10 per cent to $2,545.05.

The movement followed the release of US Consumer Price Index (CPI) data on Wednesday, as investors now look ahead to Thursday’s Producer Price Index (PPI) report.
