NACDW, NTA to oversee WUF12 volunteer efforts in Egypt
The National Alliance for Civil Development Work (NACDW), in partnership with the National Training Academy (NTA) and the World Youth Forum Committee, will oversee the management and selection of volunteers for the WUF12.
The 12th edition of the World Youth Forum WUF12, scheduled to take place in Egypt from November 4-8, is a significant global event organised by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in collaboration with Egyptian government. The forum will focus on urbanisation and sustainable, inclusive urban development.
The WUF committee, with its proven track record of organizing major international events in Egypt, will be tasked with organizing and coordinating WUF12 activities.
WUF12 to feature diverse participants and events
WUF12 will attract delegates from around the world, including government officials, corporate representatives, community leaders, and civil society organisations. The event will feature over 600 sessions, an expanded urban exhibition, and Cairo Urban Week.
The main sessions of the WUF12 will be broadcast live in all six United Nations languages, as well as international and Arab sign languages. These sessions will also include a special event hosted by the Egyptian government to showcase the country’s progress in comprehensive development, environmental protection, infrastructure, and social welfare.
The event will highlight Egypt’s commitment to improving living standards for all citizens and ensuring a decent life for everyone. It will also demonstrate the country’s achievements in green transformation, promoting inclusive and sustainable recovery, and implementing the National Climate Change Strategy.
Egypt’s anticipated hosting of WUF12, as the first African country in 20 years, underscores its pioneering role in international and regional development. The country has made significant strides in advancing integrated urban development, including through projects like fourth-generation cities and initiatives to improve citizens’ quality of life. These developments have positively impacted citizens’ lives and improved Egypt’s standing in various international indicators.
