Gold prices rise ahead of US jobs data

Gold prices edged up in early trading on Tuesday as investors awaited US labour data for more clarity on the pace of US rate cuts.

Spot gold prices gained at 6:25 GMT by 0.39 per cent to $2,644.8 per ounce, compared to yesterday’s closing price of $2,634.73. While, US gold futures rose 0.21 per cent to $2,665.05, compared to Monday’s closing of $2,659.4.
