European shares up on early Wednesday trade

European shares experienced gains across most indexes on Wednesday. By 4:55 ET (8:55 GMT), the pan-European STOXX 600 index was up 0.51 per cent, while Germany’s DAX rose 0.17 per cent and France’s CAC 40 added 0.57 per cent.

Switzerland’s SMI increased by 0.49 per cent.

In London, the FTSE 100 advanced 0.38 per cent, but Spain’s IBEX 35 dipped 0.29 per cent.
