Vietnam’s CPI up 0.29% in Sep. ’24

Vietnam’s consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.29 per cent in September 2024 compared to the previous month, bringing the year-on-year increase to 2.63 per cent, up from the 2.18 per cent recorded in December 2023.

The average CPI for the third quarter of 2024 rose by 3.48 per cent compared to the same period last year. For the first nine months of the year, the CPI was up 3.88 per cent year-on-year, while core inflation increased by 2.69 per cent.

In September, the gold price index surged by 1.88 per cent compared to the previous month. Year-on-year, it saw a substantial increase of 32.27 per cent, up from 22.66 per cent in December 2023.

The US dollar price index fell by 1.79 per cent in September compared to the previous month. Year-on-year, it increased by 2.4 per cent, up from 1.7 per cent in December 2023.
