Egypt’s SCZONE unveils $1.8m investment in solar mounting systems project

The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) announced on Tuesday the signing of the first phase of PYRAMIDS ALU Project, a $1.8 million initiative to produce high-quality aluminum frames and solar mounting systems in the Sokhna Industrial Zone.

The project will be implemented in three phases. The initial phase involves establishing a factory on a 5,000-square-metre plot, consisting of four Plug & Play units, at an investment cost of up to $1.8 million. It will contribute to creating 42 direct job opportunities. The factory is expected to be operational within two months.

The PYRAMIDS ALU Project is a partnership between the Egyptian company, ALU AFRIC and the Chinese companyو ALU PRO. It is expected to reach a monthly production capacity of 1,750 tons, relying on local raw materials and advanced manufacturing techniques.

“PYRAMIDS ALU Project represents the achievement of SCZONE goals in localising complementary and feeding industries for green fuel production and pushing forward the industry of solar energy production components, by relying on local supplies.” SCZONE Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dien said.
