Japan’s PM unveils plans for supplementary budget

Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba announced plans to propose a supplementary budget after the upcoming lower house election.

The budget will focus on disaster relief for areas affected by a recent earthquake and measures to help households cope with rising living costs. Ishiba is expected to dissolve parliament and call for a snap election on Oct. 27.
