Malaysia’s unemployment rate falls to 3.2% in August ’24

Malaysia’s unemployment rate decreased by 0.1 percentage points to 3.2 per cent, after remaining at 3.3 per cent for nine months, according to the Department of Statistics data showed on Thursday.

The country also recorded a 0.2 per cent month-on-month increase in employed persons during August 2024, totalling 16.66 million. The employment-to-population ratio was 68.1 per cent as of July 2024, the report added.
