China sets new record for railway cargo transport in Q3 ’24

China’s railway network set a new record by transporting 1.004 billion tons of cargo in the third quarter of this year, a 3.8 per cent increase from last year, a data from China State Railway Group Co., Ltd showed on Sunday.

The industry aims to enhance transport services and efficiency to support economic growth. Coal transport also saw a 3.5 per cent rise, with plans to develop a modern railway logistics network to reduce costs and improve circulation.
