Egypt’s Ministry of Industry signs co-operation protocol to boost Upper Egypt development

The Ministry of Industry and Transport has signed a cooperation protocol with the Upper Egypt Development Authority on Wednesday, to enhance industrial and infrastructure projects in Upper Egypt. The agreement aims to provide comprehensive engineering, consulting, and supervisory services for projects in the region.

Minister Kamel El-Wazir highlighted Upper Egypt’s potential as a promising investment destination and emphasised the importance of meeting global standards in industrial development. The partnership aligns with Egypt’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on improving services, creating jobs, and attracting investment to Upper Egypt’s governorates.

The Executive Agency for Industrial and Mining Projects will handle surveys, studies, and supervision, while the Upper Egypt Development Authority will continue its efforts to develop the region, where it has already implemented 35 projects since 2018.
