Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed in red notes on Wednesday, with the main index, EGX30 going down by 0.81 per cent, to 30,371.26 points.
The Shariah index, EGX33, shed by 0.83 per cent, to 3,125.05 points.
The SMEs index, EGX70 dropped by 0.17 per cent, to 7,909.73 points.
The index, EGX100 index fell by 0.33 per cent, to 11,073.52 points.
The total market capitalisation recorded 2,183,970,204,813 Egyptian pounds.
Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers with a total of 4,493,113,840 Egyptian pounds and 148,207,170 Egyptian pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, non-Arab foreigners were buyers with a total of 4,641,321,010 Egyptian pounds.
Top gainers
- Shares of Memphis Pharmaceuticals (MPCI.CA) rose by 10.85 per cent, to close at the price of 21.150 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Sabaa International Company For Pharmaceutical and Chemical (SIPC.CA) climbed by 9.93 per cent, to trade at the price of 1.550 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Egyptians Housing Development and Reconstruction (EHDR.CA) jumped by 8.19 per cent, to the purchasing price of 0.383 Egyptian pounds a share.

- Shares of Egyptian Iron & Steel (IRON.CA) dived by 4.99 per cent, to close at 35.250 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of El-Nile Co.For Pharmaceuticals And Chemical Industries–Nile1 (NIPH_r1.CA) sank by 4.45 per cent, to close at the price of 36.750 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Raya Holding For financial Investments (RAYA.CA) slid by 4.35 per cent, to close at 3.300 Egyptian pounds a share.
