Egypt’s public sector employees see 10.5% pay raise

Egypt’s public sector experienced substantial growth in wages and fixed assets during the fiscal year 2022/2023. According to data released by the official statistics agency CAPMAS, total wages for public sector employees increased by 10.5 per cent to reach 38.8 billion Egyptian pounds.

The public business sector also witnessed significant growth, with fixed assets rising by 18.2 per cent to 871.3 billion pounds. Additionally, the value of projects under implementation increased by 33.0 per cent to 99.3 billion pounds.

These figures indicate a positive trend in the Egyptian economy, with the public sector playing a crucial role in driving growth and development.
