S. Korea’s online shopping sees steady growth in Oct. ’24

South Korea’s online shopping sector continued its upward trajectory in October 2024, with the total transaction value reaching 20.2845 trillion won, a 0.6 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Mobile shopping continued to lead online sales, representing 76.0 per cent of total transactions, up by 2.6 per cent from October 2023. The transaction value for mobile shopping increased by 4.2 per cent year-on-year, reaching 15.4227 trillion won.

The online shopping transaction value for food and beverages, food services, and agricultural products increased significantly, by 17.5 per cent, 15.6 per cent, and 16.3 per cent, respectively, compared to the previous year.
