S. Korea consumer sentiment plunges in Dec. ’24 – BOK

South Korea’s Composite Consumer Sentiment Index (CCSI) for December 2024 fell to 88.4 points, a decline of 12.3 points from the previous month, as per a recent survey published by the Bank of Korea (BOK) on Tuesday.

Sentiment regarding current living standards fell to 87, a decrease of four points from November. The outlook on future living standards also weakened, dropping to 86, down eight points from the previous month.

Concerns about future household finances were also evident. Sentiment related to future household income decreased to 94, a six-point decline from November, while sentiment concerning future household spending fell to 102, a seven-point drop.
