Egypt’s Cabinet approves maritime agreement with Oman
Egypt’s Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, approved on Wednesday a key maritime cooperation agreement with Oman.
The cooperation agreement, in the field of Maritime transport and ports, was signed in 2022 during the official visit of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Oman. It aims to foster closer economic and commercial ties between the two nations by streamlining and coordinating maritime activities.
The deal seeks to address key challenges impacting maritime and multimodal transport, while also focusing on enhancing logistics operations. It envisions the removal of barriers hindering the growth of maritime trade, facilitating smoother port management, and boosting collaboration on ship maintenance and repair.
Additionally, the agreement aims to promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise in port operations, providing a framework for deeper collaboration in the development of both countries’ maritime sectors.
