Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) closed in the green area on Wednesday, with the main index, EGX30 going up by 1.46 per cent, to 29,389.93 points.
The Shariah index, EGX33 surged by 1.59 per cent, to 3,087.94 points.
The SMEs index, EGX70 gained 1.37 per cent, to 8,121.67 points.
The index, EGX100 index soared by 1.47 per cent, to 11,199.23 points.
The total market capitalisation reached 2,177,391,154,663 Egyptian pounds.
Non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with a total of 2,641,930,557 Egyptian pounds. Meanwhile, Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers with a total of 2,166,492,153 Egyptian pounds and 475,438,404 Egyptian pounds, respectively.
Top gainers
- Shares of Alexandria Pharmaceuticals (AXPH.CA) soared by 15.79 per cent, to close at the price of 395.730 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Egypt Aluminum (EGAL.CA) climbed by 15.04 per cent, to trade at the price of 144.900 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Rubex International for Plastic and Acrylic Manufacturing (RUBX.CA) added by 12.74 per cent, to the purchasing price of 12.480 Egyptian pounds a share.
Top losers
- Shares of Middle Egypt Flour Mills (CEFM.CA) dived by 11.04 per cent, to close at 51.750 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Ismailia Development and Real Estate Co (IDRE.CA) sank by 4.89 per cent, to close at the price of 18.660 Egyptian pounds a share.
- Shares of Rakta Paper Manufacturing (RAKT.CA) plunged by 4.08 per cent, to close at 29.590 Egyptian pounds a share.
