Vietnam remittances likely to reach $16b in ’24

Remittances to Vietnam are estimated to reach approximately $16 billion in 2024, maintaining the record-high level achieved in 2023, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bùi Thanh Sơn.

Ho Chi Minh City remains the primary recipient of these funds, accounting for roughly 60 per cent of the national total, or $9.6 billion. This represents a $140 million increase compared to the previous year.

Remittances from Asia accounted for 54 per cent of the total, a 24 per cent rise from the previous year. Oceania and the Americas reported increases of 20 per cent and 4.4 per cent, respectively, while those from Europe dropped 19 per cent.
