El-Khatib highlights Egypt’s investment incentives in Economic Times interview

Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El-Khatib reaffirmed the country’s commitment to attracting foreign investment through tax incentives, infrastructure development, and business-friendly policies during an interview with India’s Economic Times on Wednesday.

Minister El-Khatib emphasised the strategic partnership between Egypt and India, highlighting the vital role of Indian investments in Egypt’s economy, particularly in manufacturing, energy, and technology. He also pointed to the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone)  as a key driver of Indian investment, citing projects in green hydrogen and renewable energy as prime examples of bilateral cooperation.

Additionally, he underscored the significance of regional initiatives like India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEEC) for strengthening global trade, with Egypt positioned as a strategic hub linking Asian, European, and African markets.

Expressing optimism about the future, Minister El-Khatib stressed that economic relations between Egypt and India are set to expand significantly, driving sustainable development for both nations.
