Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib met with a delegation from Yazaki Corporation, for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa to discuss the company’s investment project in Egypt. The Minister highlighted the Egyptian government’s ongoing efforts to enhance the investment environment and provide incentives for foreign investors, particularly Japanese companies.
El-Khatib emphasised the opportunities in industry and innovation, noting that the government is focusing on attracting investments in advanced technologies and infrastructure. He also praised Japan’s role in supporting Egypt’s economic development, particularly in education and technical training, which strengthens Egypt’s labour competitiveness.
On his part, Yazaki Corporation chairman expressed the company’s interest in expanding its investments in Egypt, stressing Japan’s commitment to strengthening trade and investment relations with Egypt. He confirmed that his company is currently exploring new investment opportunities in the Egyptian market.
Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Yazaki, also provided an update on the construction of Yazaki’s first factory in Faiyum, which involves a direct investment of 30 million euros. The factory, expected to begin production in August 2025, will create 3,500 jobs by 2027.
