Egypt’s EDA, MAKERS Group discuss boosting local medical supplies industry

The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) held talks with Misr Applied Knowledge Enterprise for Research and Services (MAKERS) to explore ways to strengthen Egypt’s medical supplies sector, the Cabinet said in a statement on Thursday.

EDA head Ali Al Ghamrawy met with MAKERS CEO and Managing Director Amgad El Maghraby to review the company’s operations and its role in advancing the local medical manufacturing industry. The discussions focused on efforts to support national strategies aimed at localising the production of critical medical equipment.

Al Ghamrawy reaffirmed the EDA’s commitment to engaging with industry stakeholders and promoting domestic manufacturing, stressing the strategic value of building Egypt’s capacity in medical production to support the healthcare system and the broader economy.
