Egypt, Germany vow to advance industrial zone project in SCZone

Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El Khatib and the German Minister of Economy and Energy, Katherina Reiche on Tuesday vowed to support the establishment of a German industrial zone within the Suez Canal Economic Zone, according to a Cabinet statement.

During their meeting on the sidelines of the Arab-German Economic Forum, they discussed means of strengthening economic ties between the two countries.

They reviewed ongoing economic reforms and investment prospects in Egypt. They also explored opportunities for enhanced cooperation and agreed to coordinate the upcoming seventh session of the joint committee between Egypt and Germany later this year.
