Indian rupee hits 2-week high against dollar

The Indian rupee and other Asian currencies continued to rise on Monday, as sudden changes in US trade policy and worries about fiscal stability weighed on the dollar.

The rupee reached above the 85 per US dollar level for the first time in two weeks on Monday, continuing its 0.9 per cent increase from Friday. The currency was last reported to have risen by 0.4 per cent to 84.82.
