Egypt’s Housing Min. explores cooperation with Guardian Glass

Egypt’s Minister of Housing Sherif Sherbiny held talks with representatives of Guardian Glass, a global leader in glass production for building façades, to explore potential cooperation in sustainable construction, as per a Cabinet statement.

El-Sherbiny affirmed the ministry’s interest in localising the components of its construction projects in line with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to reduce reliance on imports and foster domestic industry.

He also highlighted Egypt’s recently launched green building strategy, which includes environmentally friendly building codes under the 12th World Urban Forum (WUF12), according to the release.

The minister emphasised the importance of collaborating with global leaders in modern construction technologies to improve the quality of life in new urban communities by adopting sustainable solutions.

Sherbiny instructed ministry officials to coordinate with Guardian Glass to supply glass products for upcoming projects via the company’s factory in 10th of Ramadan City and to continue discussions to support further cooperation.
