Egypt and Oman on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation in civil aviation and expand operating rights for their national carriers, Egypt’s ministry of civil aviation said.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 42nd International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Assembly. Amr El Sharkawy, president of Egypt’s Civil Aviation Authority, said the MoU enhances Arab aviation cooperation and supports stronger air connections with Oman.
Naif bin Ali Al Abri, president of Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority, said the partnership adds value to Oman’s aviation sector, fostering coordination, knowledge exchange, and more sustainable links to Egypt’s tourist destinations.
The two authorities said the agreement reflects the depth of bilateral relations and contributes to sustainable development goals for the regional air transport industry.
