Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed mostly in the red zone on Thursday.
- The benchmark index, EGX30, went down by 0.05 per cent, to 42,033.78 points.
- The Shariah index, EGX33, dropped by 0.15 per cent to 4,451.77 points.
- The index EGX35-LV fell by 0.02 per cent to 4,623.94 points.
- The SMEs index, EGX70, sank by 0.05 per cent, to 12,940.91 points.
- The EGX100 index slid by 0.04 per cent, to 17,144.41 points.
The total market cap reached 2,963,264,903,280 Egyptian pounds.
The Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers with a total of 5,806,310,400 Egyptian pounds and 476,312,712 Egyptian pounds, respectively. On the other hand, the non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with 6,282,623,112 Egyptian pounds.
Top gainers
- The shares of Golden Textiles & Clothes Wool went up by 14.06 per cent to 50.200 Egyptian pounds a share.
- The shares of South Valley Cement rose by 8.18 per cent to close at 8.330 per cent a share.
- The shares of Arab Moltaka Investments Co jumped by 6.60 per cent, closing at 5.010 Egyptian pounds.
To losers
- The shares of Orascom Construction PLC dropped by 5.51 per cent to 449.830 Egyptian pounds at closing.
- The shares of Ceramic & Porcelain fell by 3.18 per cent to close at 15.510 Egyptian pounds a share.
- The shares of Egyptians Real Estate Fund Certificates sank by 3.05 per cent, closing at 12.380 Egyptian pounds a share.
