EGX closes in red area on 4 Jan

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed in the red area on Sunday.

  • The main index, EGX30, went down by 2.23 per cent to 40,898.15 points.
  • The Shariah index, EGX33, fell by 1.57 per cent to 4,525.54 points.
  • The EGX35-LV index dropped by 1.56 per cent, to 4,585.26 points.
  • The SMEs index, EGX70 sank by 0.47 per cent to 17,343.7 points
  • The EGX100 index slid by 0.03 per cent to 17,236.7 points.

Egypt’s cap market reached 2,959,400,721,350 Egyptian pounds.

The Egyptians and non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with a total of 93,852,762 Egyptian pounds and 43,626,426 Egyptian pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, the Arabs were net sellers with 137,479,188 Egyptian pounds.

Top Gainers

  1. The shares of Sabaa International Company for Pharmaceutical and Chemical went up by 9.68 to close at 4.080 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. The shares of Gogreen for Agricultural Investment soared by 9.35 per cent, closing at 2.690 per share.
  3. The shares of South Valley Cement went up by 8.84 per cent, to close at 9.360 Egyptian pounds per share.

Top Losers

  1. The shares Subscription Rights Of Copper For Commercial Investment&Real went down by 5.60 per cent, to close at 0.118 Egyptian pounds a share.
  2. The shares of Orascom Development Egypt sank by 5.28 per cent to close at 24.060 Egyptian pounds a share.
  3. The shares of El Kahera Housing fell by 5.00 per cent closing at 2.470 Egyptian pounds a share.
