Egypt denies reports of gas cylinder shortage in Beni Suef

Egypt’s Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade on Wednesday denied social media reports of a shortage of household gas cylinders in Beni Suef governorate, saying supplies are being distributed normally.

The ministry said in a statement that Beni Suef’s daily allocation of gas cylinders is being delivered regularly through approved warehouses and distribution outlets, with no disruptions.

Supply operations are coordinated with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to ensure steady availability across governorates, the statement said.

Local supply authorities are monitoring distribution daily to ensure cylinders reach consumers at official prices, while inspection campaigns are continuing to prevent hoarding or illegal trading.

The ministry said legal action would be taken against anyone found manipulating supplies or spreading false information about shortages.
