Egypt to launch real estate tax app in mid-April to boost compliance – FinMin

Egypt plans to launch a mobile app in mid-April giving taxpayers full digital access to real estate tax services, as it seeks to streamline procedures and boost compliance, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said Monday.

The app will allow users to complete the entire process online, from registration to payment, part of a broader push to modernise tax administration and improve services.

Kouchouk said the latest real estate tax facilitation measures offer an “exceptional opportunity” to simplify procedures and enhance public services. Speaking during a session with tax officials, he urged proper implementation to improve the taxpayer experience and build public confidence.

“I want real estate taxes to become a new success story, offering accessible and efficient digital services for citizens,” he said, adding that recent progress in tax facilitation had raised the government’s ambitions for further reform.

Expanding the tax base, improving services and encouraging voluntary compliance are priorities, he said, calling on officials to help taxpayers resolve issues rather than pass on administrative burdens.

Khaled Abdel Ghany, chief executive of E-Tax, said the application would mark a step in digitising real estate tax services, adding that the company is ready to provide the technical support needed for the rollout.
