The US dollar was little changed against the Egyptian pound in midday trading on Monday, according to data from five major Egyptian banks, reflecting continued stability in Egypt’s foreign-exchange market.
As of 12:21 p.m. local time (09:21 GMT), the dollar averaged 52.12 pounds for buying and 52.22 pounds for selling across the surveyed banks.
| Bank | Buy (EGP/USD) | Sell (EGP/USD) |
| National Bank of Egypt (NBE) | 52.09 | 52.19 |
| Banque Misr | 52.09 | 52.19 |
| Commercial International Bank (CIB) | 52.12 | 52.22 |
| QNB Alahli | 52.0800 | 52.1800 |
| Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) | 52.2000 | 52.3000 |
The dollar has traded within a relatively narrow range in recent weeks, supported by improved foreign-currency liquidity and easing pressure on Egypt’s foreign-exchange market.
