The US dollar was broadly unchanged against the Egyptian pound in early trading on Tuesday, according to data from five major Egyptian banks, signalling continued stability in Egypt’s foreign-exchange market.
As of 11:36 a.m. local time (08:36 GMT), the dollar averaged 51.95 pounds for buying and 52.05 pounds for selling across the surveyed lenders.
| Bank | Buy (EGP/USD) | Sell (EGP/USD) |
| National Bank of Egypt (NBE) | 51.95 | 52.05 |
| Banque Misr | 51.97 | 52.07 |
| Commercial International Bank (CIB) | 51.92 | 52.02 |
| QNB Alahli | 51.9400 | 52.0400 |
| Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) | 51.9900 | 52.0900 |
The greenback has traded within a relatively narrow range in recent weeks, supported by improved foreign-currency liquidity and easing pressures in Egypt’s foreign-exchange market.
