Egyptian pound at 51.01/51.11 against dollar in midday trade – 21 July 2026

The Egyptian pound was little changed against the US dollar during midday trading on Wednesday, extending its recent period of stability across major local banks.

The US dollar traded at an average of EGP 51.01 for buying and EGP 51.11 for selling across five leading banks as of 11:41 a.m. local time (08:41 GMT), according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English.

The Egyptian currency has traded within a relatively narrow range against the US dollar in recent weeks, supported by stronger foreign currency inflows, improved investor sentiment, and easing pressure on the domestic foreign exchange market. The trend has helped limit exchange rate volatility despite fluctuations in global currency markets.
