Egyptian pound at 51.30/51.40 against dollar in midday trade – 22 July 2026

The Egyptian pound was little changed against the US dollar during midday trading on Wednesday, extending its recent period of stability across the country’s major banks.

The US dollar traded at an average of EGP 51.30 for buying and EGP 51.40 for selling across five leading banks as of 12:23 local time (09:23 GMT), according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English.

 Bank Buy (EGP/USD) Sell (EGP/USD)
National Bank of Egypt (NBE) 51.28 51.38
Banque Misr 51.26 51.36
Commercial International Bank (CIB) 51.33 51.43
QNB Alahli 51.2800 51.3800
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) 51.3400 51.4400

The Egyptian pound has remained within a relatively narrow trading range against the US dollar in recent weeks, supported by stronger foreign currency inflows, improving investor confidence, and easing pressures in the domestic foreign exchange market. The trend has helped contain exchange rate volatility despite ongoing fluctuations in global currency markets.
