The Egyptian pound was little changed against the US dollar at Wednesday’s close, extending a period of relative stability across Egypt’s major banks.
The US dollar traded at an average of EGP 51.11 for buying and EGP 51.21 for selling across five major banks as of 16:00 local time (13:00 GMT), according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English.
| Bank | Buy (EGP/USD) | Sell (EGP/USD) |
| National Bank of Egypt (NBE) | 51.1 | 51.2 |
| Banque Misr | 51.08 | 51.18 |
| Commercial International Bank (CIB) | 51.1 | 51.2 |
| QNB Alahli | 51.1000 | 51.2000 |
| Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) | 51.1500 | 51.2500 |
The pound has traded within a narrow range against the dollar in recent weeks, reflecting improved foreign-currency liquidity and relatively stable conditions in Egypt’s foreign exchange market.
