Egyptian shares closed higher on Sunday, with the benchmark EGX30 index falling -0.23 per cent.
The EGX30, which tracks Egypt’s largest and most actively traded companies, ended at 55,371.47 points. The EGX33 Shariah index also dropped by 1.16 per cent to 6,671.4 points, while the EGX35-LV gained 0.17 per cent to 6,899.74 points.
Small- and mid-cap stocks also showed mixed performance. The EGX70 index, which tracks small- and mid-cap stocks, rose 0.01 percent to 21,063.3 points, while the broader EGX100 went 0.18 percent lower to 27633.23 points.
Market capitalisation stood at 4.384 trillion Egyptian pounds.
Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers, with purchases totalling 109.965 million pounds and 43.532 million pounds, respectively.
Non-Arab foreign investors were net sellers, recording net sales of 153.498 million pounds.
