Egypt’s stock market (EGX) in the red area on Tuesday.
- The benchmark index, EGX30, went down by 0.33 per cent to 52,297.12 points.
- The Shariah index, EGX33, fell by 0.08 per cent to 6,286.78 points.
- The index EGX35-LV fell by 0.24 per cent to 6,264.87 points.
- The SMEs index, EGX70, dropped by 0.51 per cent to 18,421.66 points.
- The EGX100 index sank by 0.34 per cent, to 24,619.32 points.
The total market cap reached 4,076,960,874,599 Egyptian pounds.
Egyptians and non-Arab foreigners were net sellers, with a total of 7,154,164,608 Egyptian pounds and 12,819,079,628 pounds, respectively. On the other hand, Arabs were net buyers with 19,973,244,236 pounds.
Top gainers
- The shares of Upper Egypt Flour Mills went up by 20.00 per cent to 509.460 pounds a share.
- The shares of Sabaa International Company for Pharmaceutical and Chemical rose by 15.47 per cent to close at 5.000 pounds a share.
- The shares of Glaxo Smith Kline jumped by 15.25 per cent, closing at 268.030 pounds.
Top losers
- The shares of Creast Mark For Contracting And Real Estate Development dropped by 20.00 per cent to 2.480 pounds at closing.
- The shares of Golden Textiles & Clothes Wool fell by 20.00 per cent to close at 151.960 pounds a share.
- The shares of Catalyst Partners Middle East –CPME sank by 7.58 per cent, closing at 33.270 pounds a share.
