Egypt’s stock market (EGX) closed in the green area on Thursday.
- The benchmark index, EGX30, went up by 2.24 per cent to 53,055.03 points.
- The Shariah index, EGX33, rose by 3.13 per cent to 6,447.37 points.
- The index EGX35-LV climbed by 2.70 per cent to 6,493.82 points.
- The SMEs index, EGX70, jumped by 3.96 per cent to 19,363.53 points.
- The EGX100 index soared by 3.55 per cent, to 25,655.63 points.
The total market cap reached 4,185,327,300,166 Egyptian pounds.
Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers with 2,862,228,700 Egyptian pounds and 22,073,941 pounds, respectively. On the other hand, non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with 2,884,302,640 pounds.
Top gainers
- The shares of Golden Textiles & Clothes Wool went up by 17.49 per cent to 171.470 pounds a share.
- The shares of ELSWEDY ELECTRIC rose by 14.29 per cent to close at 120.000 pounds a share.
- The shares of Ceramic & Porcelain jumped by 13.37 per cent, closing at 26.540 pounds.
Top losers
- The shares of Emaar Misr for Development dropped by 5.60 per cent to 12.800 pounds at closing.
- The shares of O B Financial Holding fell by 5.15 per cent to close at 0.920 pounds a share.
- The shares of Misr Duty Free Shops sank by 3.30 per cent, closing at 46.610 pounds a share.
