A traffic accident in Upper Egypt’s Luxor governorate on Friday injured 13 people, including five children.
Preliminary police investigations reveal that a tire blowout caused a car to overturn on Desert Road near Esna city.
The injured were transported to a nearby hospital and are currently receiving medical treatment, Al-Ahram’s Arabic website reported.
According to figures by Egypt’s Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS), in 2014 a total of 14,403 road accidents in the country led to the death of 6,226 people and the injury of 24,154 others.
