Business Monitor International (BMI) has estimated the Kuwaiti mobile market to grow 192.7% by 2016, Saudi Gazette has reported. The Gulf country’s mobile market recorded net additions of about 327,000 subscribers during the first months of 2011, compared with 306,000 during the same period a year earlier. BMI maintained its growth expectations for the fixed-line and Internet sectors as there was no new data from the ministry of communications. However, the market research company warned that a combination of continued disconnection of fixed lines because of unpaid bills and increasing fixed-to-mobile substitution poses downside risks to its fixed-line forecast.
