Ahmed El-Wakeel will serve a second term as President of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC) as the result of the federation board election held Saturday.
In addition, the elections have also resulted in naming Ibrahim Mahmoud Al Araby- Chairman of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce – as the First Vice President of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce.
Fathy Morsi, who serves as the Chairman of Beheira Chamber of Commerce, has been elected as the Second Vice President of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce.
Following the board elections, FEDCOC’s new board is to hold its first meetings Saturday with Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour – Minister of Industry and Trade.
FEDCOC was established in 1933 to coordinate efforts of all regional Egyptian Chambers of Commerce and promote their common interest. As an official representative of all Egyptian business organisations it supports the achievement of economic and social development in Egypt. The Federation contributes to the development of internal trade and export, raises awareness of the competitiveness of Egyptian SME’s, and lobbies for government support of the Egyptian business community via involvement in the government’s legal, economic and trade policies.
