Around 48 Egyptian firms are participating in the Kenya Chemex 2015 Exhibition for plastics and packing, according to the Egyptian Chemicals and Fertilizers Export Council (CES).
Kenya Chemex will take place in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi from 7 to 9 December, 2015.
Khaled Abu El Makarem, CES Chairman, the participant Egyptian firms involve 39 working in chemicals sector, packing and printing, in addition to 9 others in engineering industries specialised in machinery manufacturing.
Abu El Makarem added that this year’s edition of Kenya Chemex would witness for the first time the presence of companies from Indonesia, India, Iran, and Turkey.
Kenya Chemex 2015 is considered to be the most important and wanted platform for the chemical industries in Africa that takes places in Kenya, which is the biggest and most advanced economy in East and Central Africa.
The Egyptian official further said that the trade ties between Kenya and Egypt are growing steadily because the two countries are members in the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA). In 2014, Egypt exports to Kenya stood at US$ 283.69 million; while its imports from Kenya reached US$ 189.53 million.
