Egypt’s electronic payment gateway E-finance is negotiating with two banks to apply mobile banking solutions, Haitham Tarabeek -head of strategies and business planning sector- stated Monday. He did not mentioned the names of the two banks.
Speaking to Amwal Al Ghad, Tarabeek said that the number of companies that pay taxes electronically has reached 350, adding that the number of banks has been boosted to 11.
The official noted that the volume of taxes and customs paid electronically has reached around 62.9 billion pounds at the end of 2015.
E-finance aims at rising the volume of the electronically paid taxes by more than 60 percent during 2016, Tatabeek added.
