Egyptian non-petroleum exports increased by 2.3 percent in February 2016 to record US$1.516 billion versus US$1.482 billion in February 2014.
Building materials sector led the list of exporting sectors during February 2016 as its exports are estimated at US$275 million, followed by agricultural crops sector whose exports worth US$235 million then chemicals and fertilizers sector with exports of US$225 million.
Being at the fourth place, food industries sector achieved exports estimated at US$214 million followed by engineering industries sector with exports of US$180 million.
Exports of handicraft industries recorded US$105 million while ready-made clothes exports reached $93 million and exports of textiles sector registered $74 million in February 2016.
On other side, Trade and industry minister Tarek Qabil clarified that Egyptian industrial exports has witnessed modest growth during February 2016 due to the efforts that the government exerts to get Egypt’s place in foreign markets back.
