Regional banks planning to open branches in Egypt: c.bank chief

Some regional banks, including UAE lenders, intend to inaugurate branches in Egypt, the governor of the Egyptian central bank told Mubasher.info on Sunday.

“Several banks in the Middle East region and notably from the Gulf have expressed keenness to open new branches in the Egyptian market.”  Tarek Amer, Governor of the Egyptian central bank, said on the sidelines of the Arab Monetary Fund’s (AMF) annual meeting being held in Abu Dhabi.
