Zamalek chief claims English interest in Egypt duo Hamed, Gabr

Zamalek chairman Mortada Mansour claimed that an English club have tabled an offer for the services of Egyptian international duo Tarek Hamed and Ali Gabr.

During a phone-in on Mehwar Satellite Channel, Mansour talked about several issues, including offers that he alleges to have reached the club for first-team players.

“An English club have tabled a £3million bid to buy Tarek Hamed,” the outspoken Zamalek chief said without naming the club.

“The same club has also made an offer for defender Ali Gabr.

“As to Mahmoud ‘Kahraba’, the latest offer to arrive was a €15million for his services.”

Thirty-year-old Hamed and central defender Gabr played an instrumental role for the national team in the Africa Cup of Nations, steering the Pharaohs to the competition’s final with some solid displays.

On-loan forward Kahraba, on the other side, has been in scintillating form for Saudi side Ittihad Jeddah since joining in the summer of 2016, scoring the sole goal in the Crown Prince Cup final against rivals Al-Nasr to help his side clinch the title.

Mansour had previously said that he would sell the 22-year-old talented winger for €100million.
