Suez Canal’s revenues rise 40.4% to 104.2bn Egyptian pounds in FY19

Suez Canal’s transfers to Egypt’s public budget has reached its highest level ever. The canal’s transfer recorded 72.2 billion pounds during the financial year 2018/2019, according to the Ministry of Finance.

Suez Canal’s revenue went up 40.4 percent to 104.2 billion pounds during the financial year 2018/2019 from 74.2 billion pounds in the year-ago period, the ministry’s data showed.

The amount was transferred to the public budget after covering operating, maintenance, and expansions of the Suez Canal, the ministry added in a statement.
