Egypt is one of the most fascinating countries worldwide
The Travel, an international travel news website, said Egypt was one of the most intriguing places one would ever get the pleasure of visiting in an article entitled “10 Reasons Why Egypt is One of the Most Fascinating Countries in the World.”
Among the reasons why the article, written by Harry Kettle, nominated Egypt were the Great Pyramids of Giza, saying that “these utterly breathtaking man-made structures give you a perfect glimpse into what it was like to be living in such a bizarre era and time period.”
Kettle said such breathtaking man-made structures proved that “the Egyptian people have, and always had, the kind of gritty determination that you need in any community — big or small.”
The author said some of the Egyptian tombs had quite literally remained untouched for the better part of 5,000-10,000 years, and that was enough to send shivers down anyone’s spine.
The website said it guaranteed that the “detail at which these tombs have been erected leaves the kind of impression that will last with you forever.”
Taking Sharm El-Sheikh as an example, the article said Egypt was doing a great job of breaking into the “luxurious holiday destination” category, as opposed to somewhere that folks visit just to see the Pyramids.
“The reefs are beautiful, the conditions are always great, and it always feels a little bit safer than you may have first anticipated it to be,” it said.
In addition, it praised the Egyptian beaches by saying: “We all think of places like Spain and Mexico when lusting after a great beach life, but Egypt is well and truly up there with the best of them.”
The Egyptians, who were mentioned as a separate reason for visiting the country, were depicted as joyful and welcoming to the extent that “there is something to learn from every single one of them.”
“The people of Egypt are as fascinating as you could possibly imagine them to be,” it said.
Their patriotism, Kettle said, had been on display. They paraded their flag out around the streets to let “foreigners know how proud they are to be Egyptian.”
Moreover, the article said the country’s glamorous markets made one feel like they had been slotted directly into a time machine and “are living in a ‘back in the day’ kind of fantasy world.”
The markets, the article added, featured everything from cutlery to stunning hand-made scarves and quite literally everything in between.
Earlier, Egypt’s Minister of Tourism Rania Al-Mashat stated that tourism was moving steadily to keep pace with global changes, being one of the country’s top priorities.
A recent research by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) said travel and tourism in Egypt grew by 16.5 percent in 2018. According to the WTTC, the country’s efforts in improving security infrastructure have paid off, leading to the best rise in tourism since 2010.
The Tourism Ministry’s vision is to achieve sustainable tourism development in line with the UN sustainable development goals.
Al-Mashat stressed that innovation and digitalisation were integral aspects of the structural reform programme for developing the tourism sector launched by the ministry in November 2018 to keep pace with the most recent trends, as well as the technological advancements in the tourism industry.
