Communications And Administrative Development Ministries Not Merging

News about merging the Ministry of State for Administrative Development with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has proved to be devoid of truth. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has pointed out that it has not received any notifications regarding this matter.

Mohamed Hanafy, Head of the Mass Communications Department at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, stated that the Ministry of State for Administrative Development has the authority to run its business independently, without the supervision of Communications’ Ministry.

However, the cooperation between these two ministries will continue in order to carry out the plans for developing and updating the state administrative agency in all sectors, he said, pointing out that a number of joint meetings are being held between the two sides to discuss this issue.

Eng. Hany Mahmoud, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, has called upon the employees at the Ministry of State for Administrative Development to to perform their duties as usual and has conducted a number of calls with the ministry’s officials to set plans for cooperation between the two ministries.

On the other hand, The staff of Ministry of State for Administrative Development led a protest last week in front of the Ministry’s headquarter in Nasr City against the new government formation which did not include a Minister of Administrative Development. Protesters also pointed out that the ministry has managed to  achieve a breakthrough in electronic services and won the United Nations Public Service Award for organizing the parliamentary and presidential elections.
