A Lawsuit for Banning Youtube in Egypt

Attorney Mohamed Hamid Salim has filed a lawsuit at the State Council’s Administrative Judiciary, demanding blocking Youtube in Egypt, in addition to  banning posting the videos profaning Islamic Prophet Muhammad (peace upon him) on all websites.

The case no. 60690 of  the 66th judicial year named the following parties: Prime Minister Dr. Hesham Kandil, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and head of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority. It highlighted that Youtube’s broadcasting of this anti-Islamic movie violates all international conventions and treaties that advocate respect for religions and human rights.

The case also denounces the movie for including inappropriate sarcastic scenes that aim at mocking the Prophet and tarnishing the image of Muslims.
