AECSD, AMEDA to explore future of capital markets in Turkey on Oct.
The Association of Eurasian Central Securities Depositories (AECSD) and Africa and Middle East Depositories Association (AMEDA) will hold a summit to explore the future of capital markets across Eurasia, Africa, and MENA on October 2-4.
The summit, titled “Building the Future of the Capital Markets in Eurasian, Africa and the Middle East: The Role of CSDs—Bridging Markers, Bridging Continents,” will be held in the Turkish capital of Istanbul.
The event will convene leading institutions dedicated to sustainable development in the participating regions, alongside prominent figures in the central depository sector. The gathering aim to foster collaboration between AECSD and AMEDA in promoting the future of these capital markets.
By maximising the role of central securities depositories (CSDs) and enhancing cooperation between them, the summit hopes to achieve greater integration of financial markets across continents.
AMEDA President Abdulla Abdin said the summit would focus on the future of capital markets in these regions, which aligns with AMEDA’s mission of supporting CSD operations and promoting stability, transparency, and growth.
Meanwhile, Riham Khedr, AMEDA Secretary-General, emphasised the importance of the summit in strengthening cooperation between depositories and fostering strategic partnerships across various financial markets. To solidify this effort, AECSD and AMEDA plan to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) during the conference.
Khedr reiterated AMEDA’s commitment to organising such events that support its vision for developing financial markets. The summit will provide a platform to share best practices and stay updated on the latest trends in central depository activities.
