Africa Health ExCon to outline best practices for sustainable healthcare in continent

The first edition of Africa Health ExCon, taking place on June 5-7 at Al Manara International Conference Center- Egypt International Exhibition Centre (EIEC), will outline the best practices for sustainable healthcare in the continent.

Under the auspices of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the conference and the exhibition will witness the international participation of more than 350 companies operating in more than 102 countries.

The Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement (UPA) organises the conference under the slogan: Your Gate to Innovation and Trade, holding over 350 sessions and 20 workshops that will host more than 800 international medical speakers and experts.

The three-day conference includes various sessions that showcase the latest technologies in the medical field. Some sessions will address several initiatives in the medical field, supporting the Africa ExCon role as a sustainable platform that connects all healthcare partners in the world under one roof.

The initiatives to be discussed and presented during Africa ExCon will include the Egyptian Cervical Cancer Elimination Initiative, in the presence of several international experts and representatives of government agencies and institutions in Egypt to protect Egyptian and African women from cervical cancer. This is in addition to a discussion about the initiative of the President for the treatment of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) cases.

Another session taking place during the event will tackle medical tourism to witness the attendance of Ashraf Ismail, chairman of the General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation (GAHAR).

Attended by Khalid Abdel Ghafar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Acting Minister of Health and Population, the second session will address the issue of public health. Another session entitled:  Population Challenges in Africa will be attended by Dr. Maya Morsy the president of the Egyptian National Council for Women. In addition, there is a session entitled: Healthcare Leadership and Management and will be attended by Ahmed El Sobkey, chairman of the General Authority for Healthcare (GAH); Hossam Sadek, executive director of the Universal Health Insurance Authority; and Hesham Abou Stait, vice chairman of UPA.

Africa Health ExCon offers ongoing training opportunities through sessions, workshops, and practical training. Further, the technical committee consists of 29 specialised experts in the medical sector and organises 18 medical conferences. More than 2000 delegates and key figures in the medical sector will attend the sessions.

Both the conference and exhibition will bring together representatives of the healthcare sector, offering them a unique opportunity to explore the innovative medical supplies, equipment, pharmaceuticals, laboratory consumables, chemicals, dental equipment, dermal products nutrition & vitamins, pharmacies, feeding industries, and packaging.
